Here’s some advice on buying your child a computer for college. Especially for freshman parents, the tendency is to get the best-of-the-best for their child…because their child deserves the best! Well, a more practical approach is to buy them something more utilitarian for the first 2 years, then get them another computer more suited to their major when they are a junior. They might change their mind in 2 years! And if you do, when they graduate their computer will still be useful enough for them to find a job!
